As this year comes to a close, the team at ICUUW holds deep gratitude for each of you and for the community we continue to build together. Over these months, we have engaged in meaningful work—work that matters in the world and in one another’s lives. Together, we have shown up with courage, care, and persistence, weaving our individual efforts into something stronger and more hopeful than any one of us could have created alone.
Along the way, we have also made memories—some joyful, some tender, all of them real. In sharing stories and laughter, in remembering moments that shaped us, we were given the gift of revisiting some of our best times and carrying their warmth forward. These shared experiences remind us why we do this work and who we are when we are at our best: connected, compassionate, and committed.
As we turn toward a new year, we pause together in a spirit of reflection and hope. May we carry forward what has sustained us—our shared values, our relationships, and our belief in the power of women working across cultures and borders. May we find rest where it is needed, courage where it is called for, and joy wherever it appears. And may we continue to be a source of light and solidarity for one another and for the wider world.
On a personal note, I would like to thank all volunteers and members for their work with me this year. It has been a pleasure serving as your interim Executive Director. My work in this capacity is coming to an end. I will continue to be an active volunteer in the organization. The Search Task Force will announce the next Executive Director early in the New Year.
With gratitude for all that has been and hope for all that is still unfolding, the ICUUW team sends you warm wishes for the closing of this year and the opening of the next.
