I really enjoyed my week in New York City and being able to spend time getting to know a group of our members better. We learned together and bonded in a special way. I am very grateful for all that our members did to make our Spring Seminar a success.
One of the parallel events I attended at CSW that made a big impression on me was sponsored by the Canadian Federation of University Women and Women Graduates-USA. Four very successful women leaders talked about the importance of mentorship and quality education for women and girls as tools to bring us closer to gender equality. Describing their own personal struggles to achieve success, these women gave me hope that there are so many good women in the world and that we can achieve great things. As elected officials, educators, UN activists and NGO leaders, the four presenters had a wide range of knowledge and demonstrated the many paths available to women. I left the workshop feeling hopeful and inspired.
